The advert heralds the start of a comprehensive media campaign by One NorthEast to support the launch of the 2007 North East England Holiday and Short Breaks Guide.
Available now, 180,000 copies of the holiday guide have been produced and distributed across Europe as well as in Tourist Information Centres throughout the UK and will promote the region as a leading place to take a holiday or short break.
The key themes in this year's guide are coast and countryside, history and heritage and city culture. It will also highlight the wealth of attractions available in the region including museums and galleries, gardens and outdoor activities such as walking and cycling. Quality regional food will feature strongly in both the TV campaign and the Holiday guide raising the profile of the fantastic local produce being made in North East England.
One NorthEast's head of marketing, Tania Robinson said: "The original TV campaign was a fantastic success and broke new ground for the region but we think the new advert will have an even bigger impact.
"Over the last couple of years we have made significant investment in marketing North East England in order to support an industry that is worth £3.4 billion to the region. 2007 will see a concerted marketing effort targeting television, newspaper and magazines, internet and direct mail throughout the UK and internationally.
"And importantly businesses seem to like what we're doing, there has been a 63% increase in the number of businesses advertising in this year's guide."
As well as the TV campaign, the Holiday Guide, also produced by Different, will be supported by leaflets inserted in a number of high profile national titles and magazines as well as regional newspapers, direct mail and online activity driving people to the North East England website: www.visitnortheastengland.com
